🚀 Headaches Are a Sign of Growth: Why Discomfort Means You’re on the Right Track
💡 Whether it’s fasting, fitness, or a new habit—short-term discomfort is just part of the process. Trust it.
I’ve been feeling headaches over the last few days.
It happens every year in the first week of Ramadan. And while it’s uncomfortable, I’ve learned to see it as a sign of my body adjusting—just like any other big change in life.
There are three main reasons why headaches happen when we shift our routines:
🔹 Glucose Levels Shift – When your body is used to regular meals, sudden changes can cause temporary dips in blood sugar, leading to headaches.
🔹 Hydration Matters – Even slight dehydration can trigger headaches. Drinking enough water during non-fasting hours makes a huge difference.
🔹 Stress & Cortisol – Hunger itself is a mild stressor. Combined with daily life stress, cortisol levels rise, making headaches more likely in the adjustment phase.
The Key? Trust the Process.
I don’t break my fast just because I have a headache—I wait until iftar, knowing my body will adjust. Sure enough, after a few days, the headaches disappear.
đź’ˇ This is how all meaningful changes work.
Starting a new habit? It will feel uncomfortable at first.
Changing your diet? Your body will resist before it adapts.
Building a business? Uncertainty will test your patience.
Short-term discomfort is not a sign to quit, it’s a sign of transformation. Keep going.
